This tunnel was discovered and restored several years ago by the Local Government of the City of Ilagan in Isabela Province. The place looks like you are travelling way back World War II era. As you go through the tunnel, several Japanese artifacts and historical tools are being preserved.
Visitors are met with several replica of World War II historical features such as "Tora-Tora", "life-sized statues of Japanese Soldiers and Japanese Garden.
Aside from Cave Entrance Fee of 50 php., you can also wear traditional Japanese KIMONO here at the price of P50.
(above: Furin Bells - an authentic Japanese Bells hang near the well and when the wind blew, the bells ring in unison and is believe to be a sign of luck or fortune -(a single bell sells for P50)
The 40 meters long, 12 feet high and 12 feet wide tunnel serves as your Time Travel experience in an era when the place was heavily occupied by the Japanese Troops.
There still remain quite a number of Japanese tunnels in the City of Ilagan that are still intact today which used to run several kilometers and would crisscross and intersect at some points. What remain of these tunnels became historical landmarks and a favorite destination of local and foreign tourists in the city.
