International Children's Day 2018
The happiness of a child begins in the home, where he is nurtured and loved by his parents, and where he receives adequate food, shelter, clothing, supervision, education and health care. All are ingredients a child needs to grow into a productive and healthy-minded person in society.
But not all children experience love where it should rightfully come from. Many children are neglected or deprived of their basic needs, thousands are abandoned or abused, countless are in danger and without protection from physical, mental and emotional harm.
But one man has a heart for all of these unfortunate children, a man in the person of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, the Executive Pastor of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name.
He gave his unconditional love not only to the children of his own foundation, The Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. (CJFI), but to all destitute children regardless of race, culture and religion.
HISTORY
Pastor Apollo says that when he was a little boy, he experienced poverty but survived because of the love of his family and the help of some considerate individuals. He has never forgotten the Chinese merchant who often took pity on him and allowed him to get rice from his store on credit. And now that he is financially blessed, he is giving more than is required of any man.
In 2005 he began feeding, clothing, and sheltering and educating children from the poor all over the Philippines, celebrating the first National Children’s Day (NCD).
In 2006, he brought the children from CJFI to Disneyland and when he saw them brimming with happiness and having the time of their life in the theme park, he said, “I want all children to experience the joy that these kids have this day in Disneyland.”
So in 2007, Sonshine Land was born in Davao City and Pastor Apollo Quiboloy made his birthday, April 25, the adopted birthday for all destitute children of the Philippines to experience the wonders of a theme park and the joy of their very own birthday celebration.
In Sonshine Land poor children encounter, for the first time, a full parade of cartoon characters, princesses and superheroes, endless party food, candy and drink, plenty of toys, gifts, rides, theater and a giant birthday cake for all the kids to blow.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy remembers how the kindness of others had helped his family through hardship and he said that this amazing experience, this unique expression of love, would remain in a child’s memories and change his life forever.
A few years back, NCD began in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, Dubai, Israel, Morocco, Turkey, the UK, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, and Russia. Today it is reaching even the most poverty stricken places in Africa.
After 13 years, the National Children’s Day, now called the International Children’s Day, extends the love of Pastor Apollo beyond the borders of the Philippines, to touch all destitute children around the world.
On April 25, Sonshine Land happens not just in Davao City, but in hundreds of places in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and around the globe all at the same time.
Sonshine Land is more than just about the park and the party, it is first and foremost about a love that made it all possible.
And this happened last April 25, 2018..

THE FEEDING
Inspired by his own childhood experience where his family had to survive a hard life in the foothills of Mount Apo, teh Appointed Son's desire is that no child shall ever go hungry.
He envisions a world free of poverty, where everyone can have access to all basic needs, and where they can exercise all their rights and privileges as children. That is why feeding programs have always been an essential part of his outreaches through the Childlren's Joy Foundation, which he had founded in 1997 and has spread globally.
There are approximately 110 thousand less privileged children plus parents and guardians gathered last Wednesday, April 25, 2018 to celebrate the birthday of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder PASTOR APOLLO C QUIBOLOY.
Poverty and other circumstances had reduced most of these chidlren to live an undeserved life which included having a lack of even the most basic needs, such as having a three meals a day.
But thanks to Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy's mission to lend a helping hand and to share his big, open heart to children from the poorest communities, the answer comes in the form of the ACQ International Children's Day celebration.
THE SONSHINELAND PARADE
Unbridled joy fills the crowd of spectators in Sonshine Land as these well-known
personalities parade in their beautifully made, multicolored costumes.
Mesmerized by the eye-catching color and design, the children, and even the adults, giggle and wave to their beloved characters, who gladly wave back with their own bright smiles to acknowledge that this day is indeed a special day for all!
THE FREEBIES, RIDES AND MORE FUN!!!
Our game booths have become more varied and exciting as well, with the bundles of prizes ever worth the challenge. More and more goodies to take home by the minute.
Countless volunteers have convened to share this mission, as well, depending on their assignments. Among these are the volunteers in the Feeding Team, who man the big (color) tents in the Feeding Area. They make sure that every child gets fed with lots of scrumptious, abundant food and lots of love.
The content and quantity of food booths have significantly increased yearly to satiate the appetite and demands of our young visitors with our free, unlimited, boundless servings.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy's love for the chidlren paved way for the International celebration of the grandest birthday party dedicated for all destitute chidlren. Pastor Apollo shared that as growing up, he had never experienced what it was like celebrating his own birthday since they were very poor.
Now that he is greatly blessed by the Almighty Father, he intends to share these blessings to all the children who were just like him before. He plans to feed all the hungry children of the world, clothe them, give them shelter, send them to school and help them in every way that he can. Pastor Apollo adds that if people would be able to listen and understand, the world would be a lot better place for humanity.
The Grand celebration is more than the grand theme park, the festivities and all suprises for the children, it's the showcase of the truest love for all the children which is all FREE, has no charges, no conditions, by the man who can give everything he has without expecting anything anything in return. And just like Pastor Apollo, we need to give compassion for our fellowmen, remove greed and give love because LOVE IS ALL WE NEED.
