The future is Here: Globe braces CIT University's digital transformation with new partnership. Digital transformation is no longer just an option but it has become a necessity among companies, commercial establishments, and in recent years, educational institutions.

Last December 6, 2018, the country's leading provider in telecommunications services, fortifies the digital age to one of Cebu City's awarded and oldest schools: Cebu Institute of Technology - University (CIT-U) through a Memorandum of Agreement signing between Globe myBusiness and the esteemed university.

CIT University, founded in 1946, will now be powered by Globe to provide free internet access for 30 minutes to the school's 12,000 students via its premium wifi service, GoWifi. Students can now stay connected in specific convergence areas inside their campus.

Aside from the free WIFI access, CIT University also availed itself of Globe Labs' SMS API, a programming software that allows web applications to send and receive text messages. Through this new service, CIT University can notify the parents of the students regarding the latter's academic standing. In the past, the parents of students would receive report cards through courier. Parents would sometimes claim that the report cards would be sent very late or, worse, get lost in the mail. The latest digital upgrade by CIT University is part of the school's vision to enhance customer satisfaction and improve spending efficiency.

Globe Telecom's SMS API service will also benefit CIT University's various school initiatives such as facilitating inquiries on tuition fees, payment confirmation, to name a few.

Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) is an advocacy and training program to further support the school's digital-connected". DTP is helpful in encouraging schools to (1) value the importance of online security and online business models; (2) enjoy the Impact of being "digitally-connected" to the university's community and rest of the world; (3) inspire students to appreciate how technology can aid their future careers; and (4) educate students to appreciate how to critique online information.
